Title: Mexican Official Standard PROY-NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2009: General specifications for the labelling of pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages - Commercial and health information
Description: Mexican Official Standard NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010 On 31 July 2020, the Ministry of the Economy published, in the Official Journal, the Interinstitutional Agreement between the Ministry of the Economy, the Ministry of Health (through the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks) and the Federal Consumer Protection Agency on verification activities under the Amendment to Mexican Official Standard NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010: General specifications for the labelling of pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages - Commercial and health information, published on 5 April 2010, which was published on 27 March 2020. The Agreement seeks to provide clarity regarding criteria for the implementation, verification and monitoring of the technical regulation in question. Its purpose is to recognize and establish a period, from the day following its publication in the Official Journal to 30 November 2020 only, during which producers, importers and marketers will not be penalized during the verification activities carried out by the Federal Consumer Protection Agency and the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks regarding pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages covered by Mexican Official Standard NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010 (the Amendment). |
